How to get to Munich
There are different ways to come to Munich. The IGSM-Team 2016 will provide a pick-up service at the airport, the central railway station and the central bus station. At these locations you will also get your MVV-Card (public transport) for the city centre. Please note that the transport from the airport to the city centre is not included, you have to buy an extra ticket.
If you arrive by car, you will get the MVV-Card at the hostel. Please inform us, when and where you will arrive in Munich!

The Munich airport (Franz Josef Strauß/MUC) is located around 40 kilometres north of Munich and linked by the suburban train within 30 minutes to the city. This airport has flight destinations to all over the world. You can find more information here.
We will provide a pick-up service at the airport. Please note that the transport from the airport to the city centre is not included in the MVV-Card.
Please note: The so called Munich Airport West (Memmingen) is a low-coast airport more than 100 kilometres west of Munich. It is connected to Munich by the Allgäu Airport Express Bus which takes about two hours to the city (link).
We will not offer a pick-up service at this airport, however, we can pick you up at the bus stop in front of the central railway station.
You can reach the Munich central railway station (Hauptbahnhof) directly from many neighbouring countries.
